Fastmail.net has been sold to FastMail.fm

December 20th, 2005 · 2 Comments

We are pleased to announce that the internet domain Fastmail.net has been sold to email service FastMail.fm. Details of the sale will be announced in a press release to be issued in conjunction with the closing of two major transactions this past week.

Having used FastMail.fm since its commercial inception in 2002, we are confident that one of the world’s premier email services will continue to thrive and hope that this acquisition will facilitate its growth. We extend our best wishes to Jeremy Howard, Rob Mueller and the FastMail.fm team.

About FastMail.fm

FastMail.FM is the world’s largest IMAP email specialist. Unlike most other service providers, FastMail.FM uses IMAP technology to allow its users to synchronise all of their emails and folders between their work PC, home PC, and public terminals. Hundreds of thousands of users all over the world, including the US, UK, Germany and Australia, use the service that The Sunday Times described as “One of the slickest, most powerful e-mail systems on the planet”.

Splendid news. It has been something of a bugger having to explain to my half-witted friends that the domain is .fm

Now with .net available their simple little brains will be able to cope. Rejoice.
